ABOUT

The Helena Trap Club began in the 1920’s as a member and volunteer-operated shooting club then known as the Helena Gun Club.

Today, the organization is known as the Helena Trap Club. It operates under the rules and traditions of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA).

Guests are welcome and club members are glad to share advice for those interested in improving their shooting.

RANGE

The Helena Trap Club is a member and volunteer-operated shooting club based out of Helena, Montana.

The Club has nearly three hundred and ninety active members, with an annually-elected board of directors and officers. The board meets at 6 PM the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Club members are encouraged to attend, to bring questions or suggestions for consideration.

LOCATION:

The range is located at 5505 N. Montana Ave in Helena, Montana. Featuring 14 stations, a comfortable clubhouse and an accommodating parking lot. It is easily accessible using Montana Avenue.

DOGS:

Any dog brought to the trap club during any shooting times must be on a leash and remain behind the sidewalk that runs to the traps. We understand that some folks want to get their dog used to the sound of shooting, but please, for safety’s sake and the consideration of others, no dogs off leash or beyond the sidewalk!

No rifles or pistols or other shooting devices can be used on the club property

COSTS:

General Public Is Welcome

Membership cost is $50 a year. This includes spouse and immediate family members under the age of 21. Shooting cards are available for $50 to members.

One round of shooting is 25 shells. A member will pay $5 a round and non-members will pay $8 a round.

Membership is required to participate in leagues.

NEED ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES:

You can buy shells at the club for your league shooting, but only for your league shooing, during the nights you shoot your league scores. Unfortunately, because of the current ammunition shortage we are not selling any shells for practice shooting.

Prices are posted inside the clubhouse. Beverages and candy bars are also available. During registered shoots and league events the club’s kitchen will be in operation, serving hamburgers (the best burgers in town!), hot dogs, etc.
